Kate Wideman on Beauty from the Inside Out and what it Really means.

Our complimentary makeup party this past Saturday was a huge success. I can't even begin to tell you how good it makes you feel inside when a person's whole look is completely transformed right before your very eyes.

What happened was that a friend of mine owns a salon and she agreed to have a little get together with a professional makeup artist who gave her clients makeovers after she was finished doing their hair or waxing their eyebrows.

To watch these women become completely transformed was incredible. They were so happy with the results that you could tell that they were radiating from the inside out which made them even more beautiful!

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone who may lack self confidence because they don't love what they see in the mirror when it reflects back at them, look in the mirror and love what they see. I know, because I was one of those people.

Our makeup artist, Judy McDougall, used the a minerale makeup line from a fabulous line of products as a palette. She took the different colors of minerale makeup and put them on a little plate and then blended them to come up with exactly the right combination of colors that perfected the skin tones of at least ten women last Saturday.

Using each ladies face as a canvas, Judy transformed each of us in such a way that there was not one single person who left the La Bebe Salon feeling, and looking, like a million bucks.

Another interesting story to tell you is that throughout the week, Eleni, at the salon has been taking the women right from getting their eyebrows done, that is if they have a few minutes, to the station where she has the makeup sitting and giving them a complimentary makeover right then and there.

Eleni called me yesterday and had a customer unlike she has ever had before. You see, a client walked in that she thought was a woman, and well, regardless of how anyone feels about that, it wasn't.

That person wanted to get her eyebrows done. As she was getting her eyebrows done she was very polite, and very young I might add, and shared with Eleni how she did not choose to be this way. She explained that she was born this way due to her genes and the only way she could feel comfortable in her own skin was to go through this transformation process.

Having never had a client like this before, Eleni really was touched by her words and kindness and offered to do her makeup for her as well. It turned out that this was the very first time that she has used makeup and had no idea how to apply it.

After Eleni showed her how to apply it, she was so extremely greatful, that it made Eleni feel so touched inside that words can not even describe it. She called me so excited about how she was able to make this person feel so comfortable and so happy that it made me feel happy.

So you see, beauty is not just about what is on the outside. It is also about the inside as well. When someone looks more beautiful on the outside, it radiates from the inside like a glowing ember.

We all could learn a bit about making others feel happy. It is truly rewarding.

Eleni also is a one man operation in her salon and finds that the minerale makeup is quick and easy to apply. It is much better than trying to cake on some liquid foundation and taking all of the time necessary to blend it in.

According to a Google Search, Zinc oxide absorbs both UVA and UVB rays of ultraviolet light, zinc oxide can be used in ointments, creams, and lotions to protect against sunburn and other damage to the skin caused by ultraviolet light (see sunscreen). It is the broadest spectrum UVA and UVB absorber that is approved for use as a sunscreen by FDA, and is completely photostable. Chinese white is a special grade of zinc white used in artists' pigments. Additionally, since zinc oxide has antimicrobial and antifungal activities, it is the number one active ingredient recommended by pediatricians for the treatment of rashes.
